We are a next generation art consultancy, focused on providing essential guidance via instant messaging, online office hours, and short form video-on-demand.
We exist to shine a light on the opaque world of galleries, auction houses and dealers - so that members can understand, navigate, and collect with confidence. And in today’s challenging market, this has never been more important.
Seen is for
Enthusiasts who want to peek under the plinth but are not collecting (yet).
Artists who seek insight from industry professionals and established artists.
Collectors who value impartial and actionable acquisition advice.
To date, we’ve interviewed emerging and established artists from across the globe including: Leonardo Drew, Alexis Nunnelly, Naama Tsabar, Storm Tharp, Rashid Johnson, Jade van der Mark, Simonette Quamina, Tom de Freston, John Pawson, Bindi Vora, Charlotte Colbert, Tom Pike, Jeffery Melo, Susan Chen, Rob Strati, Matthew Day Jackson, Violeta Sofia, Kofi Perry, Richard Phillips, Richelle Rich, Jens Joneleit, Damian Elwes, Ana Samoylova, Remi Rough, Philip Colbert, Nancy Cadogan, Joey Veltkamp, Shanequa Gay, Berto Herrera, Katie Tomlinson, Chris Proctor, Blaire Hawes, Brendan Paddingale and Takeisha Jefferson.
A note from our founder, Carrie Scott:
“Seen didn’t happen by chance, but my love for broadcasting and interviewing artists kind of did. It all started with a fashion photographer, Nick Knight, and an exhibition we created called In Your Face. The idea was simple: feature artworks that demanded something from the viewer, and pair them with interviews that asked big, bold questions—no easy escapes.
Fast forward - we had a sponsor. We were in Miami, sitting down with some of the art world’s biggest names—Martin Creed, Marina Abramović, Ryan Gander. I loved every moment of it. Then, out of nowhere, a TV producer called me about a new show, The Art Show. With no on-camera experience, I found myself auditioning in front of a brilliant director, Mike Christie. His advice? “Be generous. Be nice. Talk to the camera like it’s your friend.” It worked, and we made something incredible—a magazine-style show about art that explored local scenes, featured remarkable artists, and broke the mold.
That’s when it hit me: art needs a dedicated space on our screens. Enter Simon Walker, the visionary behind Maidthorn, Marquee TV, and CountryLine. Together, we saw an opportunity to create something different—not a Netflix for art, but a platform that inspires, educates, and connects people to the best artists and exhibitions, no matter where they are.
The question was, could we build something that would give our imagined audience access to the best exhibitions, the best artists? Could a woman watching from the confines in her room in Minneapolis learn about London or New York's art scene, and be inspired to dive deeper, keep watching, keep learning? The answer? Yeah, we can.
Seen is here to demystify the art world without dumbing it down. We unpack its rules, tell its stories, and introduce you to the artists shaping our time. Imagine sitting down with a Van Gogh or Mary Cassatt and asking them anything—our interviews aim to be just that: a portrait of the art world today.
Our goal? To help you see art, love it, and feel part of it. The ivory towers and gatekeepers have held people back for too long. Let’s change that. Let’s get art Seen.”
